The Edinburgh based business, part of the pan-European Celestia group, has started building preproduction units of the world’s first multi-beam Ka-band gateway following the successful extended testing of the system with JoeySat, validating the gateway’s ability to communicate reliably with spacecraft over a nine month period.
“With the green light to move ahead, our teams have already started work on the first preproduction units of the Ka-band gateway, showing that the era of electronically steered gateways has now arrived,” says Dr Malachy Devlin, CEO of Celestia UK.
“This marks a key stage in the evolution of our work on the UK Space Agency supported Sunrise project with ESA and Eutelsat OneWeb, as phased array systems transition into commercially viable solutions.
“With production of our proven Ka-band gateway now underway, we’re entering a transformative phase for the global satellite industry, one where virtually unlimited constellation bandwidth and faster time to revenue from gateway deployment become a reality, driven by Celestia’s innovation.
“Our solution is compact, flexible and scalable, offering high reliability and operational efficiency for next generation satellite communications capable of tracking and communicating with up to 28 satellites simultaneously. Don’t miss out on the new generation of gateways. Come and talk to us at the UK Space Conference or get in touch with the team for more details of this game-changing system,” he says.
Celestia UK will be on stand A33 at UK Space Conference, Manchester from 16-17 July 2025.
