DLS-20 Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer for Analysis of Hydrogen and Helium Isotopes

The Hiden DLS-20 is a quadrupole mass spectrometer specifically designed for the analysis of hydrogen and helium isotopes, as well as other light gases. The system incorporates a new Hiden mass filter engineered for ultra-high resolution, featuring a pole diameter of 20 mm.

Software-controlled switching between quadrupole stability regions (Zone H and Zone 1) enables flexible operation. Ultra-high resolution up to 22.5 amu can be achieved in Zone H, while high-resolution analysis up to 200 amu is available in Zone 1.

The system includes a high-stability, high-frequency RF supply from the AMZ-QPS Series 1000 RF Generators.

The updated configuration supports species up to 22.5 amu, allowing precise mass separation of compounds such as D2O and Ne at a nominal 20 amu, with a separation as fine as 0.03 amu.

Features

  • 0.006 amu mass separation in real time
  • Detection of 3He in HD
  • Sensitivity of both He in D2 and D2 in He is 1 ppm
  • The first quadrupole mass filter in the industry with a rod diameter of 20 mm for extremely high mass resolution
  • Software switchable dual-zone RF power supply for Zone H ultra-high resolution up to 22.5 amu and Zone 1 ultra-high stability to 200 amu

Applications

  • Nanotechnology
  • Residual gas analysis
  • Fusion research
  • Isotope studies
  • Synchrotron studies
