Adapt IP Ventures to Market MagiQ Technologies’ Quantum Computing and Security Related Patent Portfolio

MagiQ Technologies Inc., announced today that it has engaged Adapt IP Ventures, LLC to market its quantum computing and security related patent portfolio. With 49 US patents, the research and development company, MagiQ Technologies, maintains one of the largest quantum IP portfolios in the world, ranking right behind D-Wave Systems and Toshiba, yet still ahead of other major industry participants such as IBM, Hewlett-Packard and NEC.

Mott Insulators Could Enable Faster Computers

An international group of physicists, including Aleksandr Golubov, head of the MIPT Laboratory of Topological Quantum Phenomena in Superconductor Systems, recently presented results of experiments testing a new phenomenon in the journal Science. The results may assist scientists in the creation of an essentially new kind of electronics - Mott transition, or the transition of an insulator to a conductor.

Electron Exchange Control in Quantum Dots Paves the Way for Progress in Coherence of Fragile Quantum States

Calculation with electron spins in a quantum computer assumes that the spin states last for a sufficient period of time. Physicists at the University of Basel and the Swiss Nanoscience Institute have now demonstrated that electron exchange in quantum dots fundamentally limits the stability of this information. Control of this exchange process paves the way for further progress in the coherence of the fragile quantum states. The report from the Basel-based researchers appears in the scientific journal Physical Review Letters.
