Adapt IP Ventures to Market MagiQ Technologies’ Quantum Computing and Security Related Patent Portfolio

MagiQ Technologies Inc., announced today that it has engaged Adapt IP Ventures, LLC to market its quantum computing and security related patent portfolio. With 49 US patents, the research and development company, MagiQ Technologies, maintains one of the largest quantum IP portfolios in the world, ranking right behind D-Wave Systems and Toshiba, yet still ahead of other major industry participants such as IBM, Hewlett-Packard and NEC.

After its founding in 1999, MagiQ Technologies steadily built its substantial patent portfolio by relying on a multifaceted approach. While the majority of its patent assets were developed in-house, MagiQ Technologies also pursued industry partnerships (e.g., with Harvard and Stevens Institute) and strategically acquired valuable 3rd party patent rights (e.g., from Microsoft). Today, the collective patent portfolio spans 44 patent families, broadly covering such areas as quantum key forming and quantum key distribution, photon detection, entanglement generation, quantum signal transmission, as well as qubit modulation and calibration.

"We believe the age of quantum information has arrived,” stated MagiQ Technologies’ VP of Marketing and Business Development, Andrew Hammond. “While MagiQ will continue to develop new technology and new IP in and around the quantum space, we believe that the timing is right to start discussions around our IP assets."

Adapt IP Ventures’ Vice President, Brian Bochicco, further highlighted the potential value of this portfolio relative to the industry, indicating, “The large investments currently being poured into the quantum computing and cryptography technology segments from industry leaders such as Google, Intel, IBM, Microsoft and Alibaba only help to confirm the market relevancy of the MagiQ portfolio. As such, we believe that we will receive interest in this IP portfolio not only from these larger players, but also from focused quantum groups, network security companies, and investment funds.”

Adapt IP Ventures plans on marketing this patent portfolio acquisition offering over the next 2-3 months. Companies interested in receiving more information on this patent portfolio are encouraged to contact Adapt IP Ventures.
