NASA to Host Televised Progress Update on Asteroid Redirect Mission

NASA will host a televised update on recent progress and upcoming milestones in the agency's efforts to identify, capture and relocate an asteroid, and send astronauts to take samples of it in the 2020s. The 10 to 11:30 a.m. PDT (1 to 2:30 p.m. EDT) event will kick off a two-day virtual workshop to highlight successes and new opportunities through NASA's Asteroid Grand Challenge, which coincides with its first anniversary.

High Sensitivity Optical Sensors with Microscopic Polymer Light Resonators Respond to Gases

Using microscopic polymer light resonators that expand in the presence of specific gases, researchers at MIT's Quantum Photonics Laboratory have developed new optical sensors with predicted detection levels in the parts-per-billion range. Danish Council Awards NBI’s ALICE Group Grant to Study ‘Primordial Soup’
