After sifting through reams of X-ray data, scientists in EPFL's Laboratory of Particle Physics and Cosmology (LPPC) and Leiden University believe they could have identified the signal of a particle of dark matter.

Ice XVI, the least dense of all known forms of ice, has a highly symmetric cage-like structure that can trap gaseous molecules to form compounds known as clathrates or gas hydrates.

Professor Vainshtein is considered one of the most renowned theoretical particle physicists of the second half of the 20th century.

CERN Opens IdeaSquare Innovation Facility in Geneva

The European Organization for Nuclear Research CERN has opened a new innovation facility in Geneva. The facility, which has been named IdeaSquare, is modelled on Finnish Aalto University's Design Factory and Aalto University has assisted in the planning and implementation of the project. IdeaSquare will serve as an environment for technological development and its purpose is to make the technology developed at CERN more widely available for society.
