Background

Education:

  • MA Mathematics-University of Cambridge (1989)
  • PhD Mathematics-University of Cambridge (1995)
Research Interests:

Andrew Hogg is interested in the dynamics of fluid motion applied to geophysical and environmental situations, with a particular emphasis on two-phase flows. This includes sediment transport and erosional flows, gravity current and turbidity flows and avalanches of granular material. I develop mathematical models to capture the fundamental dynamics of the flows and to yield results that may be compared to experimental measurements and field observations.
