Finer Points of Fluid Dynamics Explored at International Space Station

Revolution Lighting Technologies, a leader in advanced LED lighting technology, announced today that it has completed lighting retrofits across fifty New Jersey school systems installing more than 500,000 of its Seesmart LED tubes to date. This program will yield significant cost savings, exceeding $3.3M annually, to achieve an average project payback of less than three years.

“Revolution Lighting is the first LED company to completely transition an entire New Jersey school system to LED lighting,” said Robert V. LaPenta, CEO and Chairman, RVLT. “The extensive use of our Seesmart LED tubes demonstrates the growing confidence within the education sector that LED lighting will play a critical role in reducing operating expenses, while ensuring high quality lighting for its students and teachers that will not degrade over time.”

RVLT’s Northeast distributor, Tri-State LED, played a key role in developing and completing each retrofit project, most recently in the Parsippany school system in August 2015, installing RVLT’s Seesmart LED tubes throughout classrooms, hallways and gyms, in addition to all exterior fixtures. This program, which commenced in December 2014 with the completion of the New Brunswick public school system, has expanded to other notable public school systems including Hillsboro, Rockaway, Paramus, Mahwah, Pompton Lakes, Mine Hill and Stafford.

Broad adoption of RVLT’s LED lighting products by public school systems will continue throughout 2015, with the installation of an additional 275,000 Seesmart LED tubes across twenty public school districts. This will include the comprehensive retrofit of educational facilities in New York and Connecticut to save an additional $1.5M annually.

"LED lighting is 60 percent more efficient than current fluorescent lighting, significantly reducing energy usage while extending lamp life by three to four times, more than eight years, resulting in reduced maintenance costs," said Art Pierfy, Supervisor of Facilities and Safety Management, Rockaway Township Public Schools. "RVLT continues to be a leading choice among educational facilities, providing LED products with superior efficiency and market-leading 10-year warranties, combined with exceptional technical knowledge and outstanding customer service."
