The SHFPPC comprises either 2 or 4 channels each featuring a low-phase-noise microwave source to generate a pump tone from 1 to 12 GHz. Automatic leveling control and a low phase drift ensure stable operating conditions over long time scales. In addition, the SHFPPC offers a signal conditioning unit for each channel for readout frequencies from 5 to 10 GHz. It contains a low-noise amplification chain as well as interferometric pump tone cancellation with automatically tuned amplitude and phase of the cancellation tone. For rapid tune-up, characterization, or performance monitoring, it is possible to generate a probe tone signal, which can be combined with the pump tone signal onto a single output port.​​​​​​​
